Officials versus Cancer
Thunder has sponsored the Officials verses Cancer campaign by purchasing as many whistles available and putting these back into the hands of our referrers to help ensure awareness is visually present at as many games possible.
This year the CMBA officials will do their part to blow the whistle on cancer. Participating officials will raise funds and awareness of cancer with it's Pink Whistle Campaign. During the month of February, these officials will swap their "traditional" black or white whistle for a special designed Pink Fox 40 whistle with the CMBA and Cancer Ribbon logos as part of our uniform.
Many of our members, along with players and coaches, have in some way had to deal with someone suffering from cancer. Our campaign is aimed to help bring awareness while at the same time fund raise to help fight this disease. All fund collected by the purchasing of these whistles and any game fees officials donate will be donated to a Cancer Charity in effort to help fund to find a cure for cancer.
The CMBA and CMBA officials are not actively seeking donations from players, coaches, parents or fans during this campaign. Our goal is to raise your awareness and if you feel the need to donate please do so by contacting the Cancer Charity of your choise and making a donation online.
