All events, practices, games, etc are played as set out by the rules and regulations through CMBA as NCBC Thunder operates in alignment with CMBA which requires that all registrants are compliant with the CMBA League legislation.
CMBA states "These rules apply to all teams registered within Calgary Minor Basketball (CMBA) when playing in any competition, organized or sanctioned, by CMBA. Where matters are not specified herein, the rules and Regulations of Canada Basketball and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) shall apply in the order listed."
Forfeits are determine as set out by CMBA. Further to that, if a Player Call Up is required (CMBA 5.5.1 "...team's roster... for a scheduled game, fall(s) BELOW 8...") this is ONLY to be done by contacting the Head coach from a team in a lower division. If you need contact information for a team coach please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
All Seeding Rules for 22 minute games have slight differences from regular season, so please double check them.
Finally, a reminder to all that good sportsmanship is expected and required. Further attention and consideration must be given to this during a lopsided game as the intent through CMBA is to promote strong, yet friendly competition. This is a competitive team sport, so we are here to build discipline through teamwork while pushing for higher standards through an environment that has an emphasis on balanced play. We will win and lose with dignity!
CMBA provides basketball opportunities for youth in and around Calgary that is accessible, positive, fair and safe. CMBA will also provide leadership, promoting the values of teamwork, integrity and commitment, while developing skills at all levels of competition and a lifelong love of the game.
